HIMA College of Engineering Technology
HIMA Campus

Our History

Rooted in service, built for excellence, and focused on industrial innovation since 1884.

Brief Introduction

Anjuman Himayat-i-Islam (AHI)—the first Muslim NGO of Indo-Pak was established in September 1884. Its main objective was to disseminate education to the poor segments of society. Technical education, being the need of the day, became the main aim and mission of AHI.

Himayat-i-Islam Mohammad Amin Polytechnic and Vocational Institute was established in 2002. With the increase in student strength, a purpose-built campus became necessary.

A joint venture was undertaken with Mohammad Amin WAKAF Estate to construct a new campus in Sabzazar Housing Scheme. A 7 Kanal–16 Marla piece of land was provided by Anjuman, and the building was constructed by Mohammad Amin WAKAF Estate, Karachi. The construction was completed in 2009, and the Institute started functioning in 2010.

Modernization & Upgradation

In this era of emerging technologies, old and outdated technologies have become obsolete, especially with the induction of Artificial Intelligence. To meet these emerging technological trends, the institute is undergoing a significant transformation.

The up-gradation of HIMA P&VI to "HIMA College of Engineering Technology" is an essential requirement to teach modern and updated technologies. The college functions under the aegis of AHI and MAWE.

Initially, the following Engineering Technology Programs are planned to be started:

  • Civil Engineering Technology
  • Electrical Engineering Technology
